HOLIDAY BELIZE TIDBITS—2005

On behalf of everyone at British American Cattle Company and Belize Development Company, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holiday or Merry Christmas, your choice. There is a new Belize Factor story at the end.

After the last newsletter, I received a lot of questions about the Sittee River Lots so I wanted to take this opportunity to describe the property in more detail.

    1. All lots have road frontage, electricity and water
    2. A typical size of a lot is 50 ft. wide by 191 ft. deep (includes the 66 ft setback)
    3. All available lots are approximately one to two miles from the Caribbean, a short boat ride.
    4. Build your own boat dock or simply tie up to the shoreline.
    5. All lots are priced at $34,900
    6. Financing is available: 20% down, 8.5% interest for 20 years, P&I would be $242.35/month using this scenario.
    7. The Sittee Point Marina is in operation and does sell fuel.
    8. The Sittee River is wide and deep.
    9. Go fishing in your back yard.

Although I always prefer people to look at property before they buy. If you buy a river front lot, sight unseen before January 31, 2006, we will let you exchange that property for any other property that we have of equal or greater value within 6 months of your purchase date.

So much for the sales pitch, lets have a short Belize Factor Story. A friend of mine bought a small resort in Belize with a restaurant and bar. After the purchase, he and his wife wanted to set up a credit card account with one of the banks in Belize City. They met with the bank officials, provided all the necessary information, set up the accounts and were told it would be about two weeks before they could start accepting credit cards. More than two weeks passed and still no credit card program in place. They met with another official from the bank and he promised again it would be about two weeks. Again more than two weeks passed with no results. Finally, the system was working; however the owners realized that all the charges had been credited to the previous owners account and not their account. Horrified, they contacted the bank again, and finally all the problems were resolved. Total time from start to finish was 6 months—Priceless.

Have a safe and happy holiday season.
